We had a dream, and some of us still have the dream to be our own bosses some day. We imagine a beautiful scenario by putting ourselves in our bosses’ shoes and figure out how life would be fun. Sometimes it can even be tempting to imagine an unrealistic boss, one who sleeps very early and wakes up late, comes to work late to find all the chores already done by their juniors. This misleading imagination has made many people quit their well paying jobs with hope that the business world will easily accept them. A few have made it, but so many have regretted why they left their work in the first place.  So, what makes the difference between those who make it and those whom the business environment filters out? After doing some research on this question, I ended up studying those who have never been employed by anyone but have built their businesses from scratch. Fascinated by their stories, I gave them the name ‘Business addicts’.<br /><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">This is where many of us who fail often miss the point. We are excited about a business we have seen in its maturity forgetting the realities and challenges it had to go through growing up. Business is like a tree that business addicts have a hobby in planting. They are so passionate about it that they are not threatened or discouraged by the risk of it dying before it gives the first fruit. As a matter of fact, they probably have planted so many which have withered and dried before the one we see today survived. They have the skill of tending to it and the professional know-how of when to water, prune, and fertilize the tree. Their passion builds courage to face the challenges in the business environment. But one ought to be careful not to mistake their courage with blind bravery, rather, wisdom from acquired information about their market and industry helps them prepare in advance on how to face on coming winds, gaging whether the tree will withstand the winds by bending or it will need support.  This ability to predict market is so critical in buying a mature business or building a new one. An entrepreneur who sells a productive mature tree may seem foolish, but if his/her fears about the future of the business turn true, and for example in that future a wild disease of foreign competition attacks the tree killing it, the buyer will be left cursing their own wisdom.<br /><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Success of business addicts builds their confidence and ability to persevere. They know despite the current setbacks, guided by wisdom soon they will make a kill. So the next time you plan to have a business, remember to plan for the business first, then to survive emulate the typical business addict.</div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div>

<br>Just like any other journey mine had to start but the start wasn’t a rosy one I mean who fancies pawpaw instead of fries (I never used to like pawpaw or papaya I think it was the taste or the smell can’t really tell), my family thought I was sick they couldn’t understand my transition though they sort of understood why I had to do it. Just like any other journeys I have had setbacks I fell sick once or twice making me halt my routine which sort of was disrupting my goal, in taking a journey you’ve got to have a goal or destination only then will you realize how far you have come and will keep pushing yourself to the goal.<br><br>  What I have come to learn is that no matter what journey you are on the results will surprise you provided that you stick to it and look at where you are going. For me I was looking for physical wellness not knowing that I also needed emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness which I got a long my journey. My journey has taught me a lot about discipline, you can’t take up a journey without commitment otherwise you will go off the road. I continue to learn more about myself as I go along this road.<br><br>  Thinking of starting a journey? They are so many journeys in a person's life but only what we call "milestones" are taken note of but let us talk about those journeys that no one talks about, the personal journeys those which aren't celebrated or mourned, those journeys that you are the only hero and sometimes villain in the story. <br><br>Two months ago I started a journey but my journey didn't just start it was motivated well more like demotivated by the weighing scale which wasn't swinging much to my favor. At that point I had two options (yes before you start a journey you somehow have to be at a crossroad to choose). I had to choose between sitting down feeling sorry for myself and hoping by some miraculous divine intervention my situation would change or make a change for the better, that meant changing my lifestyle, journeys are like that, they change your life. I took the second option, I mean it did look rational enough but it wasn’t easy either, journeys don’t make choices easy, they make you think through.<br>

I don’t need to say the year. However, these days’ kids are brought up on laptops, tablets and smartphones way before they play football outside on the grass. They don’t play outside. They don’t play in the rain. I have played outside but never in the rain.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span lang="EN-GB"><br /></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span lang="EN-GB">I know the basics of using my laptop. However, whenever I run into a technical issue on my laptop, my brother is the first person I turn too. Underage yet quite knowledgeable at heart, he knows things that I just take time comprehending, like installing an OS (Operating System) on the laptop. The only difference is that ladies are now more bold and assertive about wanting a Mercedes Benz and being unapologetic about it. Ladies want luxury. Strangely enough, men have not been left, they want kids to carry on their name. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span lang="EN-GB"><br></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span lang="EN-GB"> There is a lot of programming on Kenyan TV that deals with marriage from Baileys Wedding Show that is about the actual wedding to Ndoa that deals with what happens after the wedding. It’s a symbol that society is being taken in by the psych and hype about marriage, nobody wants to grow alone unless they choose so. <div class="MsoNormal">Mashujaa day it was in Kenya yesterday. Full of fun and drinking parties. And the social media crowned it all with everyone giving long lists of their shujaas, and as people from some part of our country would call them, Sujaas. So I was left confused.  Not that I don’t have Sujaas of my own, but only that it caught me by surprise that it was my day to celebrate them. I guess this is the only holiday in our whole yearly calendar which we have to celebrate different things on the same day. I mean, a holiday which everyone was telling a different story of whom or what they were celebrating. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Originally, on this day we celebrated our founding father, mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Somebody thought it wise and maybe it was, to dilute mzee’s party by including a list of all the men and women who fought for the freedom from slavery in these celebrations. The result of this idea included in our new constitution was that Kenyatta day became mashujaa day. Since by nature we are never fond of copying, we extended this hand of diluting the parties by including in the list of these freedom fighters our own sujaas. At the end of it all, the partying was great and the list of shujaas infinite in length. As for me, I left my long list which would probably have started with my late mother to that uncle who paid my fees in high school, and celebrated the Kapenguria six below.
