There, I gave insight on how everyday wisdom may be used to foresee the market changes and position oneself accordingly. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">The wisdom based on analysis of information relative to the future is something that is accessible to any logic. It does not require any specialized professional skill or sophisticated data analysis skills, but rather, it begs us to put ourselves in our fellow investors’ shoes, and try to think like them under a given set of circumstances. The article is still in our site and you can check it out under the title “the secret behind positional investment.”</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Now, yesterday, a reader questioned me about a promise I had made in that article through my Email account. It is good to keep promises you know. I had to go through it again and I discovered I had left the title hanging. I was to give a practical example of the application of this reasoning of positional investment in my next article. Here today, I intent to give a practical example of how people have reaped better than others in Kenya’s vegetable market using this logic.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">As is apparent to every Kenyan, the market for vegetables in Kenya goes in a pattern of low and peak periods in terms of supply. When supply is at its peak, there is surplus in the market, and the price hits a bottom low while a lot of product goes to waste. During the lows, there is scarcity in the market that rockets the prices to the highest.  Funny enough, most of the vegetable product is not rainfall dependent. We therefore don’t expect their prices to fluctuate like those of rain dependent ones. Yet in reality this seasonality is observed in the movement of prices of vegetables. Basically, this is because of how different individuals analyze market information of surplus and scarcity. Think of that investor who sells during this period of scarcity; compare the profits they get with those of one who bring their product unknowingly to find a surplus.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">The difference between the “lucky investor” and the unfortunate victim of circumstances, who sells during a surplus period, is rooted in how the two interpret the information of a present surplus or scarcity relative to the future. One prefers to go in the opposite direction of the others. For one, the lucky one in this case, a scarcity in the market means that other investors are still seeing this scarcity and will try to fill the gap by investing in the scarce product. To him/her, a scarcity does not imply we should invest in that product, but rather, in one which is in surplus as soon many will abandon its produce. As time elapses, he/she will be moving in the opposite direction of the other investors. They will enlarge their profit margin double wise. One, during surplus when they are planting, the market prices for material will be relatively cheaper, while, on the other hand, the time to sell prices will have moved higher. </div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">What then do you think will happen when all of the investors have this information? Is there not a risk of a prolonged scarcity or surplus? Only when you are able to foresee this can you boast of having the capabilities of a positional investor.</div>

The pleasantness that accompanies plenty of what to eat, complimented by the forces of the market favors this speculator to buy at a very low price. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">After a while, when nearly all is exhausted in our stores, the attitude of the society changes from one of joyous sharing to one of adversary and eating alone in secret. This too, a climate of selfishness during deficiency that segments the society in groupings based on what one has in store, favors the speculator to sell at exorbitant prices to individual consumers who once sold in togetherness.</div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Shall we gang together during this time of scarcity against the speculator? Evaluating things keenly will prove this as a misleading line of thought. It is not the fault of the speculator to take advantage of the negligence of others. In fact, if we single out the speculator as our cause for our fall from glory, we would be compelled by the same yardstick to include a farmer who plants in time to harvest abundantly in this list of enemies of the society. We owe him thanks for saving us from our own negligence. By taking risk, he stores for us for the future. </div>

<p>Contrary to many people's desire to gain exposure and an opportunity to step on a platform that will catapult them into their desired destiny, Ruth Matete, the winner of Tusker Project Fame season 5 is not happy about her decision to have joined the academy. </p><p>"Given an opportunity again or if I was taken back I wouldn't join TPF." She said these words during an interview on a local morning show. The fame, the attention, the criticism, the challenges and change of lifestyle are part of her top reasons. Her spirituality was challenged by critics who think she should have not joined a secular platform. Being a born again Christian has gotten her a fair deal of criticism both from fans and haters. </p><p>People should not define you. Criticism will always be there, learn to live above it. <br>There has been some serious growth in Infrastructure in our main cities in recent years. Construction has taken on another level with apartments, office blocks, hotels, schools, hospitals and other building on demand. When one looks at it like this one would think it’s not a destructive force but trust me as much as we need sand on the other hand it is very destructive. Sand is much needed by Mother Nature as much as we also need it for construction. Sand contains the ability to preserve water and we ask ourselves why Ukambani land is one of the driest parts in Kenya.To my understanding there are some situations where seeing is believing. One has to see the destructive nature of harvesting and how it affects the surrounding nature as well as the residents in the neighborhood.<br><div class="MsoNormal"><br></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">In the beginning of the year The Machakos Governor Dr. Afred Mutua put levies on Sand harvesting in a way that if one is buying or selling sand,<a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="_GoBack"></a> one has to pay a tax of 20 thousand shillings. His counterpart Makueni Govoner Professor Kibutha Kibwana instead took a bold move and totally banned sand harvesting in his county.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Dr. Afred Mutua wants to build a new city and this will require a lot of Sand for the Buildings which will be there. Machakos and Makueni Counties has best quality sand in the country and Leaders need to get up and save what we have left. This natural resource we have in plenty, we need to find a way how it can be harvested in a manner where Mother Nature can thrive. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">In order to understand the severity of the matter I decided to visit a farm affected by sand harvesting and show how it has proven a losing battle. After surveying this particular farm, we decided with the management to go and consult the Machakos County offices in charge of sand harvesting and it’s licensing. Going to those offices was just a waste of our valuable time, instead of giving us information or helping us we ended up  in the NEMA Machakos offices. The Machakos NEMA offices are located 15 minutes’ drive on Kangundo Road, then just next to Mumbuni Boys High School. I must admit NEMA are well organized, we were well received the junior staff and made us fill a form after we had handed in a request letter for ban on Sand harvesting in</span><span lang="EN-GB"> that particular area. The officers then instructed us to go get an OB number from the Machakos police station so that they can come and asses the area then give us the Ban.</span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="EN-GB">Getting an OB number from the police was not a big issue since that’s what they are used to on a daily basis. We drove back to the NEMA offices knowing that we had already fulfilled the requirements of getting the sand ban.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>We even went an extra mile and took pictures of the destructive nature of sand harvesting. When we got there, we were well received and after giving the OB number to them, we were ushered in the manager's office. My first observation was that he continued reading a newspaper even as we settled. After we explained our purpose of coming to see him, he is the kind of people I ask why they even bother to wake up and go to the office at all. He just wasn’t interested in our claims even after showing him pictures of how destructive sand harvesting was to the farms around as well as the youth. The youth on the other hand live a destructive life as well because the do the harvesting and the loading which later on the money ends up in the local dens for cheap liquor. When we left those NEMA offices I was deeply worried of our youth and suddenly the people who have been trusted to work for the citizens instead of reading newspapers while having guests in your offices. From movies to advertisements there is no where digital art has not been used.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Looking back from where Art has come from, it’s clear that the future will need this sort of art to save the old. It would not be possible to create animations if digital art was not in play. Most of advertising agencies depend on this sort of art to have their say and believe me this has proven to be a success in this industry. In Kenya we are yet to fully utilize the power of digital art. The moment we realize the potential this type of art will bring, then we can really claim to be digital. We keep on staying that we need to switch to digital yet there is so we need to be enlightened about.<br><br> </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Proper use of digital art can enhance the way we do business or the way we portray a message. With the Help of digital art we bring life to characters and build a life around these characters in animations and cartoons. Digital art has transformed many industries and is still yet to transform more. No matter how we look at it there is not much we can do but accept that technology has transformed how we interpret art. At the end Digital arts is just getting better and with time we will also see good digital works fetching good money. The government also needs to wake up and start supporting these digital artists and their works.
