With the Kenyan Premier League matches halted, focus turned to CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup matches that were played over the weekend.

Sofapaka needed to beat FC Platinum of Zimbabwe by at least two clear goals but despite taking the lead after just four minutes, they crumbled to a 2-1 loss, to kiss the Confederation Cup competition goodbye, having lost 4-2 on aggregate.
On Sunday 1 March, Gor fought against all odds to score two away goals and proceed to the first round of the CAF Champions League on the away goal rule.

Gor went into the match with a slim 1-0 win registered in the first leg but CNAPS of Madagascar made total use of their home advantage and bagged three goals before the halftime whistle, with Hassan Abondo pulling one back for Gor.
In the dying minutes of the second half, super sub George BlackBerry Odhiambo scored Gor’s second goal to send them through to the first round where they will meet AC Leopards of Congo.
