There was a time when parents, teachers and generally adults of the 60s kept preaching to youngsters about the dangers of illiteracy in the modern age. Their protest was that due to the culture of texting with abbreviations, eventually good writing would become a thing of the past. Still, texting became more and more popular and social media has integrated itself so completely in our daily activities that misplacing a phone, tablet or laptop is cause for panic. Nowadays, it is not astounding to read a text message like, "hey, u ther, u wana com ova. We cn watc movies and stuf yh?" It is not just English that is butchered during texts, French, Kiswahili, Spanish and more are all victims of lazyman texting as I like to call it. Now that, Viber, Telegram, Whatsapp and other texting platform can work on laptop desktops, the sky is the limit.

So, the long farewell to proper English texting has been confirmed with the proposed release of an Emoji Keyboard.  Technically, the emoji keyboard has not been released yet, the group behind the keyboard, Disk Cactus, is looking to raise $20,000 by April 9,2015. With the keyboard, no need for words, letters, just hearts, dollar signs and all those other emoji people use.
Of course the keyboard will allow you to switch between your regular keyboard to the emoji one, because you can't quote Shakespeare in just emoji. To switch, you will just push caps lock and back to letters. The keyboard will have over 150 emoji, giving one enough emoji to express themselves appropriately.

The keyboard is not actually a hardware, but a cover but only for Mac keyboards. So, this is another reason to purchase the very expensive Macbook. So all you need is to pledge $10 or more and then you will get the keyboard cover and the software that comes along with it.
I dread to think what would happen if this cover actually gained popularity here in Kenya.
