The AFCON tournament is over and Ivory Coast carries the day after beating Ghana in the finals. It was not a easy win for the Elephants for they won in the penalty kick out.
It was really on of its own tournament in Africa and I can comfortably say that the African football is growing to the next level. All in all there are player that I missed to see in the action during the big thing: McDonald Maringa, Denis Oliech, Francis Kahata, Victor Mugubi Wanyama, Arnold Origi among other big player in Kenya. Hoping next time this great team will qualify.
Now that the tournament is over and the EPL is also ongoing, the Kenyan main league is expected to kick off and this time two leagues will be playing in the country. As I wait for the two leagues am confused which one to follow and what will happen if, A team has two games in the same day in the two leagues, will FKF allow their referees to officiate KPL or will KPL league be run by untrained referees?
All said and done we need sanity in the Kenyan football to help us play in the next African big tournament, who will bring this if the managements running the sport are not willing to reconcile and work together.
As we celebrate our own, KPL and FKF need to work together.
